Images are the building blocks, the cellular equivalent of the story of humanity and the way we see ourselves and others. They define the visual culture we are surrounded with. Re-thinking images hold a huge possibility for creating a future that is nurturing, equitable and rooted in care.
We challenge the monologue of ‘hegemonic heterosexual colonial gaze’ through the images we create and tell authentic, bold stories, rooted in lived experiences of the communities. Our images melt power dynamics and pull the rug of linearity from underneath the “narrative” of the world. The stories we tell through our images reflect the complex layers of context and lived experiences of the people, communities and their humanity.
Our work is rooted in principles of feminism, community, indigenous wisdom and responsible representation.
